Double Leopard

It's supposed to be a dreary rainy day so nothing too exciting. I normally wear skinny pants so these are a little out of my comfort zone. I got them from the thrift store so I  had to hem them. I'm not sure about this wider shape on me. I think if they wear already petite than I'd be able to have the full effect of the flare.
I like this jacket because it looks structured but feels like a sweatshirt.

I did try to brighten the day with fun leopard socks and bright lipstick.

Polka Dots

I think polka dots are one of the happiest prints. They look retro and classic in black and white.
This skirt is adorable. It's the perfect length and I love the polka dot overlay.
These Lc Lauren Conrad shorts are very Minnie Mouse. Even though they are inspired by a cartoon mouse they can be worn by adults. They have a very subtle matching bow.
These shoes are very bold. They will add a touch of fun to normal office wear or jeans.
I really like the neckline on this top. The whole shirt is really joyful. It would look adorable paired with a high wasited circle skirt.
I like this Betsey Johnson bag. The dots on the bow are actually studs. I love the double dots look.

Tiki dress

I wore this on my day off. I took myself to lunch at my favorite Indian restaurant they put out a good buffet and I had a good book and I also had some errands to run in the area. This is one of my favorite summer dresses. A lot of my summer dresses don't fit but I'm really glad this one does.

I made this dress last year. It's Simplicity 2444 I think it fits well and I love the skirt. I accessorized with a pearl necklace and an elephant ring. I guess elephant dress and elephant ring is a bit much but I could have added my elephant brooch and elephant necklace. So two elephant pieces seems kinda tame.

High Waisted Shorts

High waisted shorts are great for summer. They look flirty with crop tops and you can find really fun prints.
These Forever 21 sequin shorts are perfect for summer concerts and festivals. The scallop pattern of the sequins makes it more fun.
These Lavish Alice shorts have an nice wrap around detail and a fantastic print. It looks adorable with the matching crop top.
These Asos shorts have a trendy chevron pattern. They are perfect for the boardwalk. They remind me of board shorts and would look awesome paired with a neon top.
These Modcloth shorts have an adorable print. I'd keep it simple with a solid top and a bold bracelet.
White shorts are a classic. These Micheal Micheal Kors shorts are on sale. They would look great in a casual setting with a denim jacket or dressed up with metallic sandals and a printed blouse.

Touch of Lace

I don't wear shorts too often and my shorts from last year are too small. When my mom and I went to the outlets the Loft had a buy one get one free deal on shorts my mom wanted a pair so I got one too.I like the look of lace shorts but haven't found a pair that was flattering on me. I like the touches of lace in this pair. It's a perfect compromise.
These shorts are longer than I normally wear they felt super long in the store but after a day of wearing them I like the length.

My earrings are little lightsabers. They came with a matching Yoda necklace.

Blank Slate

I wore this yesterday. My mom and I went to visit one of our suppliers and they are near an outlet center so we did a little shopping. My mom got me a pair of shorts and a dress. Then I saw Jurassic World with some friends. They like Jurassic Park and I like Chris Pratt.
I thought a scarf would look nice but I realized it wouldn't be fun to take off every time I tried something on so I went with a brooch. This is a Weiss brooch it was my first vintage jewelry purchase.

Your Guide to Yellow

Yellow is a great trend for spring. It brings sunshine to outfits but some shades are harder to wear than others. The best way to figure out your favorite shade is try things on. Keep in mind that just because a shade doesn't look great near your face doesn't mean you can't rock it in a skirt or handbag.Today I'm showing you four shades of yellow and some cool pieces in them and tell you some ways to wear them. For some visual on outfit ideas check out my pinterest board.
Mustard to Gold I feel like these shades are the easiest to wear. This is one in this category that should look good on everyone. It adds a nice touch of warmth to any outfit. This shade is perfect for fall but it can be done in summer with shorts or a flirty skirt. Mustard looks fantastic with navy or jewel tones. I love to pair it with leopard shown here
Forever 21 shorts, H&M skirt, ASOS Sweater
Neon is the hardest to pull of in my opinion. I love the statement it makes on others but it makes me look seasick. If this is the case for you. Try it away from your face in a bag or shoes maybe even a scarf tied around a bag. Maybe you can a print with a hint of neon like this Asos dress. Neon looks great with grey or denim. If your working out in neon go all out try it with bright pink!

Pale yellow is soft and girly. It works on wide variety of skin tones but it can make you  look washed out. Try pairing it with leather or a metallic to give it some edge. Or pair it with dots and pastels for a sweet look.

Classic Crayon yellow It's bold but not too bright. If you are new to wearing yellow this might not be for you because it is bolder than mustard or pale yellow. This shade looks great with pink, blue or black and white.

Crabby Skirt

I had a great weekend. I went to Pittsburgh to see Taylor Swift. My boyfriend got us tickets for our anniversary. I wore this to work. I make the skirt last summer with a matching beach bra top.
I have to take my photos when the sun is brightest. It's hard to find a nice spot. The one area that's pretty good in my yard is on a slope.

Tropical Prints for Spring

Tropical prints are a big trend for spring and summer. You can add a little vacation style to everyday. Tropical prints tend to be in cooler tones and more leafy than an average floral.
I love how this Matthew Williamson dress goes from blue to green and the print gets larger towards the hem. It also has a really interesting back.

The keyhole neckline and the high-low hem set this Thalia Sodi dress apart. It would be perfect for a nice dinner in a beach town and it would still fit in on the boardwalk.
I have these Liz Claiborne pants. I like the pants are a little wide but not outrageous; I think that amount of flare works really well on a petite frame and it has elastic on the back to keep the fit nice.
This New Look jumpsuit is awesome. The palm print is bold the shape is very streamlined so it looks chic.

Here are a few more tropical options.

I wore this to work. I tried out the new shoes I got for work. I got Aerosoles So Soft. They look like the gold shoes that I always wore around when I knew I'd be walking a lot. I kinda wore them out. The shoes aren't the most stylis but it looks a little nicer than wearing my sneakers around. They don't feel as comfy as my old ones but they aren't broken in yet.

I couldn't resist matching my lips to my shirt. I used Revlon Just Bitten Balmstain in Smitten. I normally use lovesick I just love that color. It goes on kinda sheer but it has great staying power and it's mosturizing.

I wore this to work. I actually wore my flats all day because it was a shorter day. Normally I change into sneakers.
I really like this pink Old Navy shirt. I can see it getting a lot of wear this summer. The only problem is it wrinkles so fast.
