Miracle

This week I had my school play. We did Miracle on 34th Street. I had two small parts I was a doctor and a bailiff.
Here we are examining Santa. I'm on the left. I really like the little nurse dress and it has pockets.
Then for the bailiff I put on a skirt and tie over my nurse dress since there wasn't a large gap between the scenes.
We did four shows this year. Then we had our cast party. The end was quite sad since most of my friends are seniors. Our last song is always lean on me and there's usually some crying, that song was on Glee last week. I was getting a little emotional on the couch. But we also did secret Santa for two of the shows. I guessed mine right. I got a slurpee and dr. pepper.
I've been working on this during rehearsals. Not that much since I was usually doing other things like talking to people and watching movies. It's a skirt and she's holding balloons I'm hoping to be done this week.

Blog Birthday

Today is my blog's second birthday, well it was Saturday but I had a six hour rehearsal so I wasn't really up to posting.
pretty and shiny.

It looks like a flight attendant and look a peter pan collar.

I love to color and I think that this girl's drawings are adorable.

I love birds.

When I learn how to drive I want a vwbus sadly they are a death trap but they are great to look at.
I love Tim Walker photos.

Jump around

Last week I found a jumpsuit and it may be the coolest thing I own. Its a jumpsuit from the seventies that I picked up at the thrift store.
It's so rainbow-y. I think I said, "jumpsuits are awesome," approximately 200 times.
And it even has a hood.

Just dance

Halloween is one my favorite holidays because I love to dress up. And I love to eat candy. I went trick or treating this year but didn't get much candy.
I dressed up as Lady Gaga because she's awesome. I didn't do one particular look. I just did a mixture. Walking around in just a leotard and leggings is very liberating.

I picked up the bow that morning at the thrift store. I put on fleece tights under my leggings to keep my legs warm but of course when it got dark it didn't get cold.

I got my stepdad to draw a lighting bolt on my face.

Dancing Queen

This is from a while ago. I've been forgetting to take pictures lately because I was working on my Halloween costume. I really like this dress because of the color yellow and all of the pleats. And pleats make things much more fun to spin in.

I was told I looked like Snow White, Madeline, and a dressed up blueberry I was going for disco princess.I really like the way the yellow looks in the sun. And I match the plant pots.

Homecoming and Dc

WOO! It's time for an outfit post in nonchronoglogical order! Let's start with the last day of spirit week again. Why? Because I have a better picture of the caution tape dress.
That thing was tight, I think this looks like that famous Diana Vreeland photo but, maybe I'm just full of myself.
This was my homecoming dress. It's a bit casual but heels, no tights, red lipstick and eyeliner say formal.

I attempted makeup. I did red lipstick, which is what I normally do when I feel like wearing makeup to school. And I did a sort of cat eye with eyeliner.
Dress- H&M

Yesterday I wore my science project dress from 9th grade.I also wore my "latex" leggings by Hannah Montana from walmart. I like them but, I feel like they are a little low in the back.

On Saturday I went to D.c. with a few friends and we went to Secondi and my friend scored a new Marc Jacobs dress for $88. Then we went to Filene's basement and I got the best tights ever there's like a blanket inside.

Diece Boutique

Di[e]ce is a new boutique in Federal Hill. Its filled with local designers. Its also mostly sustainable clothing. The owner used to be a manager at the Clothing Warehouse. She's very young and a sweetie. There's a lot more guy stuff now. There is a wide variety of clothes; casual dresses, formal dresses and even backless overalls!I think they have great accessories. I loved the hats and my friend fell in love with a purple bag.

I'd would say that they have good prices since it's all handmade local stuff.

This yellow dress was one of my favorites. A ruffle, a zipper and yellow!

It's just a short walk from the inner harbor. So you should stop by. I really like it there. Then when your done shopping you can walk a few blocks and go to the aquarium and see a fudge show.

Who's got spirit?

I love spirit week, not because I have large amounts of school spirit but because I love to dress up.
Tuesday was sports day so I wore a tutu and a jersey because dancing is a sport

I put the jersey over the tutu because the tutu is a really pale shade of pink.

Wednesday day was wacky Wednesday, my friend told me I should wear jeans and a tee but I told him I was going allll out. I really like this outfit actually.
When one of my friends saw me she said why hello Lady Gaga which made my day. The glove is practical and stylish since I only had half a jacket I needed something to keep my non-jacketed arm warm.

I did the half had by creating a hair clip and sew my hat to it.

I also had on two pairs of glasses during the day. I took them off after school.
Look at that I even did half of my lipstick.

Thursday it was decades day. My grade got 70s I wanted to be Penny Lane from almost famous but I didn't have the right stuff. So I dressed as Columbia from Rocky horror picture show since I already had the outfit.

It's just a jump to the left with a step to the right.......
you put your hands on your hips and bring your knees in tight.....
Do the pelvic thrust....
It really drives you insane-ane....
Let's do the time warp again.
I already had the outfit because my friend had a horror movie party so I sewed ribbons to some black shorts and put on fishnets.

Friday is black and gold day. So everyone wears caution tape. I made a dress. I taped myself into that morning, this is just when I was trying it on. It started to break during the pep rally from all the sitting standing and jumping. Thankfully I had shorts and a shirt on under it, so i took it off when I got of the gym. It was very hot.

Tonight is homecoming.

New York Part 1

Here's the start of my fashion week review. I'm starting with New York and going alphabetically by city.

Let's start with Alexander Wang

Generally, Alexander Wang doesn't thrill me but this season I was impressed. It was very sporty. I was a fan of the sheer front sweat shirt. It was collegiate-Wang with Sports bras and football shaped purses. But I'm in love with the quilted leather shorts.

ANNA SUI
Anna Sui is a master of prints. I love the way she mixes them. This collection was very sixties-so of course I liked it. It varied between a boy band-esque suit to little mod dresses. I loved the tights. And the mask as a headband.

CHRIS BENZ

I've never heard of him before but his looks are very fun and sparkly. My favorite look is the purple shirt with sparkly sleeves. Most looks had a full skirt. Benz showed a large range of styles from a Grecian style top and a marabou skirt.

Marc Jacobs
I go back and forth between liking and disliking this one. It has forties shapeswith 80s prints. I really like the plaid shirt striped shorts look. And I loved the jackets, Marc always does great jackets. The styling was great: little geek glasses and Minnie mouse bows/ears. And there was a pink and orange print I loved.
This is my favorite look from the show. I love the stripes, the pink and orange-ness,and asymmetrical sleeves.

My next post is my SPIRIT WEEK POST. Tomorrow I can't be Penny Lane but I will be someone possibly even better.

Ready for takeoff

Yesterday I felt like a flight attendant. I'm not sure why,I think its the scarf. I told my friend she told me I did look like a colorful flight attendant.

I really like this blue dress. Its actually quite warm well you know as warm as a mini dress can get. Which is good because it's starting to turn to fall.
Hound sooth is one of my favorite patterns.

Today I think I might clean my office and finish watching the Office season 5 ( I love netflix).
Next week is spirit so I have to get working on my Penny Lane outfit.

The September Issue

Friday night I went dress shopping for homecoming, I complained to my stepdad how most homecoming dresses looked the same. Then we went to H&M and I tried on a fifties style leopard print one, its perfect. Then I crashed boy's night. I showed them the dress and they agreed that it is very me.

Saturday I finally saw the September Issue. In the first scene Anna Wintour talks about how you can be smart and like fashion and to look nice. But in my opinion Grace Coddington is the best part of the movie. She is so passionate about what she does and you can see that. You really feel sad with her when Anna cuts some of her pictures. Grace really sees fashion as a fantasy she insists upon not retouching a real person. You see Anna Wintour judging the designers and she says a lot by saying a little. I thought this was a great movie, my stepdad not so much, he fell asleep. The women I was talking to after the movie loved it too.
I got invited to go to Europe this summer. It would be to the south of France, Italy, and the Alps. I put some ads up so it would be nice if you would click them so I can get a little money for the trip.

Oh like Yoda

There are a lot of photos for today since I have a tripod now and I LOVE this dress. The skirts is very swishy, which is good because i like to enter rooms dramatically.

Our backyard looks like an archaeological dig at the moment since we are making the pond bigger. I decided to hop in and take a photo. It goes even further to the left than in the picture.
I haven't gathered the courage to take pictures where there are other people yet, because even though I love the camera when other people are taking the photo, it would just feel weird setting up my tripod and camera right in the middle of where I'm not the only one there.

I decided to sit in the grass because I thought the green would contrast nicely with the red in my skirt. And you can see my shoes better.

Monday I wanted to wear my flapper dress and military jacket. My science teacher told me I was born in the wrong decade and that I should have been a hippie or a flapper. I love this dress but since the fringe is in loops I get stuck on everything. I got stuck on my friends jacket at lunch and I repeatedly get stuck on door knobs.

This is the first day I got the tripod. I wanted to wear my silver GoGo boots since it was cold.

I have the sweetest friends. My friend drew me this a few weeks a go. Its a calendar but not a only is it calendar its a calendar of me in chibi form. My friend told me chibi's were small cute people, to which I replied," Oh, like Yoda".
The homecoming dance is coming up and I need a dress. I drew three that would be great.
The first is a dress with two layers of ombre purple fringe and the final layer extends past the hem. The one in the middle is a flapper style dress with beaded fringe and a beaded belt. The third is a pencil dress with a tulle overskirt and a rhinestone collar and belt.
I would have to make these but the first one my fabric store doesn't sell long enough fringe. The second one I don't have enough time since it's completely beaded. So I'll probably get something totally 80's from the thrift store.

Patriotic

Here are some outfits from this week and last week. I don't have many from last week because I was a bit sick so I didn't feel like taking pictures.
Tuesday, I decided was a good day to reveal the sequined leggings. When I was outside during free period they made polka dots on the ground. The best comment I received was wow Jess you're patriotic today.

Friday I was recovering but I went to the big football game, its like the super bowl of the area I live in. I wore a skirt to school, but a friend advised that I should wear pants to the game, so I did but I put on a neon sweater and hot pink trench coat so my friends could find me.After that I had my first taco bell meal with some friends.

After taco bell we went to a friends house and played darts. Below is one of the shots I made, yes that's the ceiling.
Last week I wore a coat as a dress I also had a dress under the coat but I didn't take the coat off since I was cold.Dress coat and belt-thrift,shoes-payless,headband-forever21

There may not be outfit photos for a bit since my picture spot is getting a make over and I don't have a tripod. I found one for $16 and one for $40.
So I'm going to some fashion week coverage, which I haven't done before. So soon this blog will have some actual writing. How exciting!

how you like to aggravate the ice-cream man

Monday I thought we were going to start the great Gatsby in English (we didn't), so I wore a 20s style dress. I wore the t-straps because I was trying to prove a point about something.

Dress- vintage,shoes- thrift,jacket-forever 21
I bought the dress in my birthday money spending rampage at the vintage store. It was only $10.I think its pretty its BLUE LACE and it has a peter pan collar. I adore peter pan collars.

Wednesday I listened to White Rabbit while picking out my outfit so I decided to dress like Alice in wonderland with a card accessory theme. My environmental science teacher got it. Themed dressing is awesome.
dress-thrift,tights AA,shoes-payless,jacket-Marc Jacobs,fascinator and necklace- me

I wore my Dorothy skirt under my dress to give it some pouf but it kept falling down and I got tired of doing an awkward shimmy motion to pull it up so by the end of the day lace was peaking out.
The fascinator was going to go in the shop but I decided it was perfect for the outfit so I'll make another one to put up. There's a necklace like mine in the shop.

Florida

So my sudden absence was my Florida trip. We went to Miami then the keys then back to Miami. I don't have any school outfits because my battery died today was strange though because alot of the people I knew were wearing yellow and blue and so was I.
Here are my vacation photos they were taken by my mother.

Feeding tarpon at Robbie's in Islamorada. We brought some of own fish.
The southernmost Point in the U.S. in Key West. I love that Key West has chickens running around. My mom and I wanted to see the drag show at 801 but they wouldn't let me in since I'm under 21.
Me at the Key West garden club it was a fort in the civil war.

Feeding seagulls.
We went to the Seaquarium and saw two dolphin shows.

Me with a dolphin statue.
Sea lions are just so cute.
Flamingos at Jungle Island.
Feeding a bird at Jungle Island.
This is Mama Cass I like the colors of her head.
Giant bird flying over my head
I went to Bal Harbour I think they fill the air with stuff that makes you think that a $900 dress is reasonable. I saw this print in a dress I didn't try it on. I didn't see these tights though because I would have bought them they are so me.
Riding bikes the last day.
I look tan.
I went snorkeling 3 times one time I saw a HUGE sting ray.
