Doll house

This is slowing turning into a look what I bought blog. On Monday I went into the city to spend my friends birthday with her she got sick so we couldn't hang out. The next day I went to the Vintage store that's about 6 blocks away from the house with my grandma and two baby cousins.,they were having a huge sale since they got a new owner she's very friendly.
My friend got unsick the same day so we went back to the store she looked at sunglasses and this little fellow caught my eye, she bought him for me.
I was a member of the VIP card thing where you could free tee shirt,I got one and its the last one and sooo comfy.
Possibly the best thing I got SILVER GOGO BOOTS!!!!! they go with everything.
This one need to be made shorter,be quite a bit.
And this one is adorable but it is scandalously short and too short to wear to school thankfully there is about 3 inches in the hem so I can bring it down.

This one is a flapper style and Its blue lace. I got alot of blue there actually another blue dress I didn't photograph, strange I always thought I was a pink person.

I bought a shirt because I don't have many, and a silver leather mini skirt. They look so cute together.

A sailor dress.I'm kinda broke now. The lady gave me all the dresses even though some were 20 and 30.
My friend and I were in my cousins room sitting in her doll house, my lack of coordination knocked it down Perfect photo op.

The house before.
The cousins they had me up at 7. The little girl adores me she always wants to play with me and sit next to me. I did her hair I made a little crown of bows.

Sunset dress

When I was a little girl I had an orange and pink dress I called it sunset dress. I would wear just about everyday while doing kid things. I loved that thing, sadly there are no pictures of me in it. I think it started my pink and orange love affair. I've been searching for another sunset dress and a maxi dress on Wednesday it magically appeared in the same dress. It may be a bit formal but I don't care I don't believe in wearing clothes just on certain occasions though I do believe in debuting them on special occasions.

I think it may be a prom dress but there's also a freshman girl who wears prom dresses to school, and I've inadvertently worn a wedding dress to school and have birds in my head so nothings shocking anymore.
I thought about wearing it yesterday but I thought it needed a more special occasion than just hanging out at a friends house. So I wore a flapper dress and got stuck on everything.

It was my 16th birthday. YAY for birthdays.
Here's a VLog I used YouTube to upload it because blogger takes forever.

Also my friend started a blog you should check it out here. She's ranting and showing pretty pictures.

4th of July

I wore this to meet my friend at the library I found out that he's moving to England in the middle of next year.
Sometimes when I get ready I pretend I'm Holly Golightly. It leads to me talking in a wonderful accent in my head. ooh for the birdcage necklace I found the pendant and attached to the chain.dress H&M,necklace-me,hat-vintage no.5,sunglasses Urban outfitters
On the fourth of July my mom and I went to the mall and I saw flapper dresses and the word sale in the H&M window, I dashed in of course. Usually the H&M sale section doesn't impress me because its a rack of clothes that are either too small or too big. This time it was a quarter of the store. And it fit.

I got the flapper dress for $10 it was $40. The shorts weren't from the sale section but my mom saw them and new I would love since I wanted sailor shorts.
I also saw this cute orange dress, I love orange if you hadn't noticed,it wasn't on sale but it was only twenty dollars. I wore it on fourth of July night when I went to my friend house with some friends swam watched his neighbors fireworks and Will and Grace and waited and hour for delivery pizza, but it was good.
A sparkly pink dress,I got it in a medium instead of a small because I liked the shape the medium made and it was a bit longer which means I can wear it to school. $15
Before we went to the mall I told my mom I wanted a military jacket. I found one I had to buy it myself so I used my money from all the change I've accumulated. The jacket was $50. It may be one of the coolest things I own,I'm almost excited for fall. I love jackets almost as much as I love dresses.

We got some lillys for the pond.

We also got a cute little frog to encourage frogs to come to the pond.

How was your fourth of July?

Just keep swimming

Its another DIY post since I've been staying home wearing pjs all day. Well I did go to Six Flags yesterday with a friend yesterday and had tons of fun. And there was this couple that I bumped into that was being flanked by security, my friend told me it was T.I so I think I walked into ti the rapper not the calculator.
Last week I made a bag for my mom's coworker and sold it for $40. It has fish.

I didn't notice it was blurry till I put it on the computer today. But as you can see this is one behemoth of a bag, its almost as big as I am.

Just because its inside doesn't mean it can't be fun.
I added a pocket and stitched lines up it to hold a phone or ipod, pens and a camera.
I included a little change purse that I made out of the leftover lining fabric.
I'm also making some halter dresses. This is the start of one for me, I need to fix the bust a bit. Then I'm making some more in this cool plaid I have.

This weeks projects are to finish this dress, start my coat and make my moms dress and get my learners permit because I've been neglecting to do so for the past three months, the website is just so confusing.

Early presents and Jewelry

The other day me friend came over to give me an early birthday present. A petticoat. I've wanted one for a while so I could put them under my 50s style dress so they were extra huge. And i could also hit people with my skirts.

All that puff is only two layers. That was pretty much the highlight of the week. Oh I went to King's dominon with my mom that was pretty fun. Last night I had to listen to my friend talk about his London trip, he met Ray Davies, from the kinks, and gave him birthday cards.

I made bird earrings, I think they are martlets since they don't have feet.

I've wanted a birdcage necklace for about a year new and I finally made one. The little door even opens up.

Ergy Erg

The other day I got an email from Caroline telling me about her new one-off clothing website,Ergy Erg, she described it as,"pieces using knotted lace, ruffs, vintage charms and findings, tatty dogtooth and silk, hand written on dresses, feathers and plastic farm animals."Sounds fun so I checked it out.
This playsuit is adorable it has lace trim and a cameo. Aww.

I love things that have writing on them.

This is my favorite thing from Ergy Erg,its a corset panel and you can throw it over anything. I love all the lace and trims.

This dolly pinafore is cute and creepy at the same time.
They also have quirky jewelry.

Whats your favorite?

Stripes

I wore this to go to the fabric store. I bought hot pink linen, and some eyelets. I also went over a friends house watched Wall-e and hostel. And we played Mario kart I got first place once then the rest I was 3rd or 4th and it was my first time playing the game. skirt-me,top-forever 21,shoes-Steve Madden,hat-vintage no,5
Today I tried to make a mock up of this pretty dress I wanted to make but it didn't turn out well. The neck was too high and the armholes came into the bust, it looked like wearing a racer back tank backwards. If anyone know any good pattern making books or videos please help me out. But in successful sewing news I made my mom a purse it has flamingos, I'll show you in the next post.

Just like a circus

I finally am out of school for summer. I'm so excited I don't have any outfits for the weekend because I was too busy to take them but I do have fun exciting stories.

On my last day of exams I promised my sewing teacher that I would show her the skirt I made in her class and my new hair. She loved it and said she almost cried. I worked really hard on it the pleats weren't as difficult as I thought they would be, it was supposed to have a contrast hem but we decided with it the skirt would be too long. James told me I had to wear purple though he didn't tell me why. I still don't know why. That means I had to wear my Marc Jacobs jacket, darn I probably would have worn it anyway.

On Friday I went to my friends graduation party, then went camping in my friends backyard. In the afternoon we got in a pool noodle and splash fights and if some one whacks you hard enough they hurt a bit (male friends don't take it easy on me). We stayed in the pool until 4 in the morning after a 2am Slurpee run. The next day we watched the first Pokemon movie since I never saw it before. Then I went to my grandmas and bought Missbehave. Then I went to another graduation party. Every body was dunking each other and i was thrown. SO I'd say it was a good weekend.

Flapper Hair

I had a good weekend. I got my haircut. Then went to a graduation party,to the mall then swimming in an ice cold pool in the rain. I went to a surprise party for my friend it was a real surprise since his birthday was a month ago. We went swimming in his pool and the creek.I also had my first crab at the surprise party. I lived in Maryland all my life and never had one. Taking apart a crab is a difficult skill but worth it but it is better when someone generously donates their crab meat, which is apparently a very rare thing.

My haircut gives me an excuse to wear red lipstick. I use Arbonne Lipstick in Bravo. It lasted 12 hours one, through two musicals, dancing, fried chicken, fries, cookies, and my lack of coordination.

Now for pretty flapper photos.
This was the photo I brought into my hairdresser. She thought it was Katy Perry. I want this dress.

Ditto
I really like this one for some reason.

Yesterday, was Super Saturday which is when Goodwill gives you 50% off clothing how exciting. I got some good stuff.I got pretty T-straps and you know they are pretty comfortable for giving me about 4 inches of height.

An Alexander McQueen for target dress,I also got another dress in the same blue color.A black blazer, that may go into the store,it looks plain from the front but turn around anHoly buttruffles batman.

Speaking of that store,I'm putting new thing up.It would be really really great if you wanted to buy something especially if you wanted to do this before Wednesday because its something special.

We have for you a lovely 80s blazer modeled by my mom and mannequin. $32.00

And handmade by me a red heart shaped by only $35.00

Jenny Lewis and Rodarte

Remember when I thought my friend and I were going to see Jenny Lewis, sadly it is not happening. We didn't think about buying tickets until I reminded him in Biology so while were were working on our projects we looked up tickets.
SOLD OUT,Needless to say I was devastated. It would have been great the first full day of summer vacation ending with Jenny Lewis. No Jenny Lewis for me and she's only my favorite singer and I had to miss her concert last time she came around. So unless the ticket fairy wants to grant me some tickets no Jenny Lewis for me Maybe if I sang a song like in Cinderella something will happen.
Yesterday I found an Alexander McQueen Jacket pattern AWESOME. While milling around on the same site I found short videos by designers, saw Rodarte made one so I was very interested. I realize I don't talk about designers much (or at all),but Rodarte is one I really admire. I watched their short film its called,"Vox Humana".

I really liked it.Amazing plus amazing equals really really good. I thought it was really. Pretty so the moral of the story Rodarte and Jenny Lewis two things currently out of my reach.

Though I do have a funny Rodarte story. I showed my friend a picture of this life. Which really moved me.I asked the basic question of," Does this dress make you feel like you can't achieve anything better and dress you made would just be sub par and if you cured cancer and put it next to the dress it wouldn't be good enough?" Strangely he said no. But he did say I would look nice in it.

Oh baby give me one more chance

I played twister and defeated my opponent because they were blinded by my beauty and were intimidated by my dance moves. I went to the battle of the beltways (D.C. Vs. Baltimore), D.c. won and I saw Batman and Robin.
Yesterday, I was sick and I wanted to make this dress, the one in the middle, with this pretty pink at the top and grey at the bottom.
But instead I laid in bed,ate soup and worked on my science project I'm making a children's book.
the most interesting part of my outfit today.
Then I made this. Does it look like a bunch of scrap fabric. It is but its sewn on a piece of elastic so now its a RESISTANCE BAND for gym class.

I know I've talked about whichgoose before but I would wear her crowns and combs everyday if could and on top of making beautiful hair pieces shes also a Maryland girl YAY!

She's started using butterflies which makes me happy because I love having flying thing on my head and butterflies.

Orange monarchs ready for flight, $30.00
Blue butterflies with little blue beads ahh. $30.oo

She describes this as perfect for frolicking I agree, I love to frolick wouldn't it look great with a 50s dress and leather jacket. $40.00

This one has already sold but its just so pretty.

Its blue it looks soft ad cloud like $25.00

Swing time

I've had a pretty good week. Except for two 3 hour long tests but I did get to sleep in. And one day I had desert for breakfast (strawberries and cream frappicino and M&M cookie) delicious.
That same day I went to the park with my friends and the camera was there so its fun park themed daily outfit time!!

New Dress

A little bit ago I finished my dress that I worked on in school. It took so long to make because of hand sewing and there were distractions. I think this is my favorite thing of mine I've made. And its in my favorite colors pink and orange. It has a lapped zipper and I did it right after two tries (I got my left and right mixed up). Its also super soft. I used Simplicity 3833 its a 60s reproduction it was really great to sew.
I wore it on Tuesday. With my pretty pink jacket.

After I got home my friend I went to a carnival. We went on an awesome ride 3 times and the man wouldn't let off the Ferris wheel. I had to plead with the ride conductor to let us get on the carousel, he made us sit on opposite sides to balance it out, and I won a pig at the gun game and I didn't even know how to hold one. After the carnival we drove around listening to Gwen stefani,Jefferson airplane,Jackson 5 and Hilary duff and dancing at red lights.

A little Birdie told me

Hey guys. I forgot to take outfit pictures this past week so here's a rundown of my weekend with some fashion related tie-ins. Sounds fun right?
Friday I went to my drama club's award ceremony/dinner/dance. This year I was nominated for two and I won them both.

Saturday I bought my mom's mother's day present,I got her a bench she really likes it.Then Saturday night I went to my friends movie night. We watched Goldmember and the Producers(interesting mix). It was only me her and the boy. I thought there would be more people.

Here's what I wore I didn't haven't anytime to change into something I liked better because as soon as I was done shopping I went over my friends house.

Sunday I took my mom to d.c. I took her to the arboretum and Georgetown I went to Vintage no.5 and bought the prettiest jacket.Today I was told to wear my Drama shirt since our director is leaving. I also wore my flapper dress because its so fun. During my free period I kept swishing around. I also wore the pretty jacket I picked up Sunday and the headband I made.

I don't know what kind of flower this is it just showed up in the garden I think its very pretty.
