HonFest 2012

I went to Honfest on Saturday and had so much fun. My mom took the photos so there aren't any full length shots but look how tall my hair is! I couldn't find my bump-it that morning so I used a loofah in my beehive like this.
This is at the Papermoon dinner. I really like the scarf and brooch combo so I'll be doing that again soon. Since, it was in Hampden I got to stop at my favorite store and I picked up a dress and ring. And I got a pair of earrings and a dress at a stall.
I did a cat eye and red lips and a ton of mascara. I went into work the next day with a slight bump in my hair and leftover glitter on my eyes.
Dress- Trashy Diva, Brooch- Vintage, Scarf- Thrift, Glasses- Florida

I made my mom some place mats and napkins for our dining room. The place mats are printed on one side and green on the other. I like the result of home decor sewing but I'm way to impatient to do it. I'll spend hours hand sewing on a dress but for some reason endless straight lines doesn't appeal to me.
The fun thing about making some home decor is using quilting cotton. It has such great prints! For the solid napkins I did tiny hems on each edge. On most of the printed napkins, I made them like the place mats so they have print on both sides.
This is a closeup of the printed napkin. Check out the candle holder my mom added a beach scene to. Isn't it adorable?

Vintage Summer Inspiration

I love vintage inspired items because they are classic and make it so easy to look and feel put together. In the summer, I want to look like I put some effort in without putting any effort in.
Vintage style bathing suits are the bomb. One-pieces can double as rompers and two-pieces look divine.
I think capris are stylish. I adore the pair Audrey Hepburn is wearing. I want capris in every color.
Full skirted sundress are one of my favorites year round but they make more appearances in the summer. The one Marylin Monroe is wearing is so wonderful and it has such a pretty fabric.
