On Tuesday I wore my default outfit. I go to this when I feel like I have nothing to wear. I love the ruffles on the shirt. My friend told me I looked like an old school teacher.
White shirt - Walmart, skirt-thrift, grey shirt- Target

Today I wore and outfit that I made entirely myself except the jacket. The leotard is from Halloween when I was Lady Gaga which is why it has an L instead of one of my initials. And the skirt is the infinity dress.
I like wearing my mirrored leotard with other things because it makes little polka dots on the ground. It was colder than I thought it would be and we were outside for a bit this morning so I was really cold.

Open your Heart

I wore this yesterday. I really like this shirt but I wear it backwards because I like the back better than the front. The skirt is really a pair of shorts with a little flap on the front and back. I've been wearing red lipstick lately; it makes me feel more feminine. Its faint in these pictures because I didn't reapply after lunch.
Top and jacket - Marc Jacobs, tights- present, Skirt- vintage, shoes- payless
I really adore this dress. I don't wear it that often because the outermost layer is very delicate. But I'm in love with the painterly print.
Isn't the print sublime? And the sheer sleeves and rhinestone buttons. I love this dress.

Balloons!

So I finally finished the hand embroidered skirt I've been working on since the first play this year. It's a simple white skirt with a balloon girl on it. She is based off of the Miss Dior Cherie girl, Marie Antoinette and Bridget Bardot. I'm really proud of it. It has a few flaws like really faint pencil marks from where I changed things but they're barely noticeable; next time I'll use a water soluble marker.

This one is my favorite.

I really like this skirt and it was well worth the work.

Top it Off

Skirts are a wonderful thing. I adore them but I feel like I don't have enough shirts. I have tees but I don't have real shirt. So I went window shopping and here's what I found.

I really like nautical looks. And this top is just adorable, with a little pencil skirt or sailor shorts you would have an awesome look. $24.80

I think this is like Lady Gaga and David Bowie shirt. And it looks so comfy! $34.99

This is a super snazzy tee-shirt. I think the little bib details makes it so sweet. $

TROMPE L'OEIL TROMPE L'OEIL! That's all I have to say about this baby. $35
VINTAGE

I really like the idea of a ruffled tuxedo shirt with a really full skirt. $32
Technically this is a suit but its like a cream sicle. $64

This is a really floaty top; I think if you pair it with jeans this could be adorable. Yes I am recommending jeans. $10

There are also cute tops at Urban Outfitters ( I couldn't figure out how to save their images) and Ebay.

My Infinity dress

Over my spring I did my take on the infinity dress. It was very quick, only a few hours. I just spread it out over two days. I looked at this tutorial. I used a gorgeous blue brocade for the bottom and a white knit that I had lying around. Since brocade doesn't stretch like a knit. I made it a bit bigger and gathered it on to the waistband. I don't really recommend this because it is a bit hard to get off.
This is how I wore it to school, but there are many other ways to wear it.

I just serged the hem and zig-zaged the edges of the knits. I think I make this dress again but I'll use all knits. I'd also find a thicker knit.

Vintage and Monkeys

So I've been crafting a lot lately. I updated a dress, made another diaper bag and a dress.
I bought a vintage dress last summer that I really liked the print of. I can't find the last picture I took of it but here's a close one.
When I cut the elastic off of the sleeve I really liked the bell shape of them so I only shortened the sleeves. It also had ric-rak around the neckline; I thought it was childish so I tacked it down.
The hem of the dress was very long and had an awkward green strip going around it. I liked the contrast hem idea so I took off the green and did a tiny hem.

And here it is all together on the dress form.

I made a diaper bag for my friends grandma. This baby has a monkey theme.

I did a decorative stitch on the zipper.

The other dress I made is very lovely but its for another post because I have a ton of pictures of it.
