December Budget

I didn't buy too much this month. And everything I did buy I got a good deal on.
I got 2 dresses and a skirt during the Nordstrom Rack sale. It was 25% off clearance.
1. White and Blue Eliza J dress  This dress is cotton and is a little more casual. Normally $158 Onsale for $ 14.98 (similar)
2. Dark Blue Floral Eliza J dress This dress is a little fancier. They are similar but I really like a full skirt shape. Normally $158 Onsale for $26.98     (similar)
3. Full Leopard Skirt- If you couldn't tell from my favorite outfits of the year post, I really like leopard. I don't have a full leopard skirt. Normally $98 Onsale for $11.02  (similar)
4. Thrifted J. Crew Blazer-  It's a bright orange blazer. I like pairng blazers with more casual pieces. $7 (simliar)
5. Bicycle Button Up shirt- It has a cute print. I can see myself wearing it to work a lot. $5 (similar)

Total Spent $ 64.98
I spent $662.26  this year. I added $29.75 back. The leather skirt from last month didn't fit. Linkups, Facebook,Instagram,Pinterest

My favorite outfits of 2016

These are my favorite outfits of 2016 in no particular order. There are widgets below so you can easily shop the looks. If something is sold out I included a similar option.
I kept the colors simple to showcase this cool fringe skirt. Full Post. Nothing in the widget is over $50.

This is one of my favorite looks. A full skirt and sweater is my winter uniform. Full Post

This outfit has one of my pieces from ThredUp. These shoes are on super sale, they are under $25. Full post

I like the bright pants paired with a dark sweater. This sweater is sold out so I put in some other animal sweaters and some elephant accessories. Full Post

2017 Blog Goals

It's been a crazy month for me! Christmas season hit my store earlier than last year. It was very fun but stressful. I've got a little bit of a break now. I want to work on my blog in the next year. I thought I would be fun to set some goals and check in on my progress and see what works and what doesn't.
Schedule Posts- I feel like I couldn't devote quality time to my blog in December because I got busy at work. So I need to get better at scheduling posts when I do have time. I'll be very busy again in February so that will be a really good time to make sure I'm scheduled.

Grow My Instagram Following- I'm at about 157 followers right now by the end of the year I'd like to double that. I'll post more frequently. Right now I only post about half of the outfits I put on the blog so a good first step is to post whenever I post and outfit post.

Start a Newsletter- I'd like to do a newsletter every other week. It would be an update of all of my posts and maybe some other things like a really great item on sale. This is something I'd like to do around March.

Post More Often- I try to post 3 times a week but I would like to post more. I want to post about other things. I enjoy talking about beauty and I've been doing a bit of decorating. But, my first step is to consistently post my normal 3 times a week.

Improve my photos- By the end of the year I'd like to get a better camera. I don't know if I want a DSLR or if I just want to upgrade my point and shoot. My camera is so old that my phone takes better pictures.

Do you have any blog goals? Would you be interested in seeing things besides fashion? Maybe more beauty and the occasional link round up?

My Top Beauty Products of 2016

With the year winding down I thought I would look back on my favorite beauty products. These products aren't nessecarily new products. Some are new and some are older, they are just products I've tried and loved this year.
Becca Backlight Priming Filter- This primer creates such a pretty finish under different finishes of foundations. I love using it with L'Oreal Pro Glow for a super glowy look. It also looks nice with matte foundations. This primer even looks nice on it's own. $38
Too Faced Melted Matte- I have this in two colors, Bend and Snap, and It's Happening. These are nice bold colors. I don't think this lipstick is too drying and it lasts a long time. $21
Clarisonic Mia 2- I LOVE my Clarisonic. I started using it in January. It has changed my skin. I've been stressed this week and normally my skin would be terrible with all of this stress but I've only had a few blemishes. If you have acne issues I completely recommend this. $169
NYX Glitter Primer- I have some glittery eyeshadows that don't show up well. This grips onto the glitter and helps it show up and prevent fall out. The downside of this is that it isn't great to blend over. I tip I read is to do your eye look and then place this on where you want the glitter and pack it on. $5.99
NYX Milk- I use this an eyeshadow base. This works as a primer and it makes colors brighter. It really brings out the pink tones of my Naked 3. $4.49
L'Oreal Pro-Glow Foundation- This is a great affordable foundation. It's glowy but not crazy. It's a nice medium coverage. This is my go-to foundation. I just apply it with my fingers. $12.99
Tarte Shape Tape- This stuff is such full coverage. I mostly use it for my undereye and it lasts all day. There is so much product in the container and the applicator is really big. $24

Green

I wore this to a networking group. It was warm enough that I could wear my over the knee boots without tights. I wanted to be a little festive but not costume-y. I snapped these shots pretty quick with my phone before I went into work.

Blanket Scarf

I do a lot of craft fairs. My usual outfit is a sweater and jeans. Now that it's getting a little chillier, I wanted something that could keep me a bit warmer but isn't too bulky. This blanket scarf is the perfect solution. I can drape it over my shoulders when I'm moving boxes for some more warmth or I can just wear it like a scarf.

November Play by Sephora Review

This month's theme was the Glow-getters. I was pretty happy with this box.
CoverFX primer- It's similar to Becca's Backlight Priming Filter but it doesn't have the scent. I prefer the Becca one. I find that this one works best under a powder foundation. Full size $38

Sephora Collection lipgel in pin up pink- I'm not a fan of glosses but this one feels very moisturizing. I layered it over a matte lipstick and I liked the look. Full Size $12

Laura Mercier Caviar stick in rose gold- I really enjoyed this. It's such a pretty color and it works really well. It's smooth and goes on easily. It looks good on its own but I like to pair it with my naked 3 palette. I think the colors really complement each other. Full Size $29 or you can get a 4 shade sampler set for $38
Cover Fx Primer, Bare Minerals Foundation,  Laura Mercier Caviar stick in rose gold on lid, Limit in the crease, factory in outer corner and outer lower lash line, trick in inner lower lash line, (limit, factory and trick from NAKED 3), Liner- Kat Von D in trooper, Mascara- UD Perversion, Blush- pink macaroon from Sephora Around the world palette, Lips- NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Addis Ababa with Sephora Gloss in pin up pink

Estee Edit Dissolve the Drama Makeup remover- The first time I tried this I hated it. I used it like a regular remover and it made my eyes really watery. Then I watched a video and I put it on my hands then rubbed it into my skin. It works really well. I feel like it removes makeup well. It says it works a cleanser but I still followed it up with my normal facewash. Full Size $32

GlamGlow Clearing mud- GlamGlow is one of those things I've wanted to try for a long time. It makes my skin feel really clean and my pores look smaller. My face does feel pretty dry after using it though. Full Size $69

Stella McCartney Pop- It's a bright girly fragance. I think it may be a little more of a spring scent. Full Size $50

Coated Ponte Pants

This is what I wore on Thanksgiving. Coated ponte pants were comfy but still looked put together. And with 2 stops on Thanksgiving day comfort was important.
