Perfect Dresses for Valentine's Day

It's getting close to Valentine's Day so I thought it was a great time to look at red and pink dresses.
This Chi Chi London dress is adorable. I love the neckline and the way it's lined so you still get a hint of skin through the lace.
This dress looks so vintage-y. I love the neckline and the little bows detail.
Red and pink are perfect together for Valentine's Day. I think this floral is bold enough to work all year.
This dress would be so fun for a girl's Valentine's Day. I love the straps on it.
This dress is great for Valentine's Day and for work. I like the seaming details on it.

Uniform

This look has become one of my go-tos lately. White sweater, knit pants and a statement ring. It's such an easy look. I mix it up by changing out the shoes. I've done flats for running errands and knee boots when I was navigating the ice. I wore this with over the knee boots when I had a casual dinner meeting.

Getting a jewelry plate for my sewing room was a great idea. I love big rings and bracelets but I hate sewing and typing with them. Having the plate helps keep everything in one place. Mine is from Charming Charlie. This one is really similar it just says Diamonds are tinsel.

Night

This is the night version of my last outfit. I swappped the tights and flats for over the knee boots and did a delicate necklace instead of my statement necklace. I love these over the knee boots. I've been wearing them all the time when I'm not at work.

Winter Essentials

I'm my area we are getting ready for snow and no one knows what time it will hit. I thought I'd show you my winter essentials.
Knit pants are great year round. They are as comfy as leggings but are still thick enough to be worn without a tunic. I have this LC Lauren Conrad pair in black and grey. Pants are hard for me to fit and I knew I'd get a lot of use out of both colors.
I wear these faux fur earmuffs alot (1,2,3). Even when you don't see them included in an outfit as soon as I go outside I pop these on. I have them in blue and white. They also come in red and black and they are on sale for $9.99. They are as warm as a hat but they don't mess up your hair and they are just so fun! Ann Taylor has a plum pair that is a little more sophisticated.

A statement coat makes going out in the cold a little more fun. I love the colors and print in this Kenneth Cole coat.
I love skirts and dresses. Having fleece lined tights makes it tolerable to wear them in the winter. You can get these at a ton of places. This pair is from Kohl's.
I spend a lot of my time at work washing dishes and my skin gets so dry and cracked in the winter and I felt like I tried everything. I learned about Working Hands from pattern designer Andrea Schwe's Blog. I went out and got some. It's so gentle and it fills in the cracks in my hands. It's unscented and a little goes a long way. If you get painful dry hands I really recommend this
A sweater with a full skirt or knit pants is pretty much my winter uniform. I like to have basic sweaters, like this red one from Loft. I love the texture on it. I also like to have fun ones. One of my most worn sweaters is a sweater with a dog on it. This raincloud sweater from H&M is adorable. I also like this bejeweled Loft sweater.

What do you love for winter?

Day

I wore this to a ladies breakfast. I think this blue looks great with a pop of red in the shoes. This dress is a little short but it really works with tights.

Leopard and Red

I wore this to a morning meeting. I'm not crazy about how my eye makeup turned out. A full skirt and this leopard sweater has been one of my go to winter looks.

Fun Flats

I practically live in flats. I love heels but when I'm in flats most often.
I like the scalloped edges on this London Rebel pair. The color is really nice too.
I love the deep color on these flats. I think the D'orsay cut on flats is very retro. The red is on sale for $34.99. Peach and Black are $49.
These leopard J.Crew flats are so fun. I like the gladiator style. They are definitely a statement piece.
The Sam Edelman Felicia flat is a great flat. They are comfy and last a long time. I got mine at Nordstrom Rack and they were half off. They come in so many colors.
These Kate Spade Taxi flats are so whimsical. I love they come in glitter now. The classic yellow is still available.

Pop of Pink

I wore this to a business group meeting. I kept all the colors simple and used pink in my accesories.

I got this skirt on black friday. I have a thing for feather skirts but they are way out of budget so this is a fun compromise. I like the length is great and I like the pencil shape.

Not a Rockstar

I wore this when I went into the city. I went with my stepdad to the Reginald Lewis museum. We also saw Mr. Trashwheel and we parked on the same street as Vaccaro's I had to get a cannoli.
I love this vintage coat. I got it a few years ago. It's glamourous and the sleeves aren't too long. The fur earmuffs are a suprisingly practical purchase. They keep me warm. The weather has been so weird it's either really warm or cold enough for a coat.

I got these jeans from Old Navy. I was looking for skinny jeans. I got the curvy fit. I thought the rockstar was good too but since I have a bit of thigh the curvy were a little more comfortable. They still seem long even though I got them in short.

Touch of Plaid

I've got two outfits to show you today. The collage is my New Year's Eve outfit. I just did some quick snaps in the hotel room before me and my friends left to go dancing. Then I have a basic black outfit.
I was so excited to wear this dress because I haven't worn it in a long time. I made it dancing the whole night in heels. Aerosoles are awesome. I also wore regular earrings the whole night. I normally wear clip ons but these were so small I didn't notice them.
The pants are so comfy. They are knit so they feel like a legging but they are thick enough to be real pants.

I like dangly earrings with a ponytail. It makes it look a little fancier.
