Fall Floral

Over the weekend I went bowling with some of the girls from dance that I haven't seen since our studio closed. It turns out we aren't very good at bowling. I like dark floral prints for fall. They are still girly but they are seasonally appropriate. I saw this scuba top at the thrift store, I really like the cutouts. I put a colorful tank underneath of it to make the cutouts stand out.

Sweaters

Sweaters are great for the transition into fall. Ann Taylor and Loft are two of my favorite places for sweaters. If you live near an Ann Taylor outlet sometimes you can get cashmere sweaters for $20. I picked some sweaters from a few places that you can pair with summer things to help transition.
I really like the print on this Ann Taylor cardigan. The colors are great to make your light colored summer dresses work in fall.
This duster from Asos is a great lightweight piece. It would look great with skinny jeans and a graphic tee for movie night. I like that it doesn't have buttons; I think that it makes it a bit more updated.
A black and white sweater goes with everything. You can pair it with bright skirts for a fun bit of color. Spongebob says that it's always the best time to wear a striped sweater. You can't argue with that.
I love the button back detail on this Loft sweater. You can get 40% off at Loft this weekend with the code FALL40.
I really like sweaters with animals on them so of course I like this Yumi swan cardigan.

Glitter and Lace

I wore this to go to lunch with my friend and helping her pick out some clothes. This dress is a little fancy so I kept accesorizing simple with just a sparkly belt and big ring. My mom and I share this jacket. I like it because it has sequins woven in. It was the perfect jacket to stay warm in cold ac and it toughens up the lace a little bit.

How to get Seventies style

Seventies style is a hot trend for fall. It can easily look like a costume. I'm going to highlight some subtly 70s pieces.
Flares are a nice break from the skinny trend. I like these Express jeans because they aren't too wide.

I love that jumpsuits have become a trend. They are so easy. I like this Asos one. The cape makes it very modern. Stick with solids or straight legs to keep it modern or strappy and printed for a more retro look.

Suede is already everywhere. The button up suede skirt is already pretty hot for fall. I like the flared skirt approach and until it get pretty cool you can pair it with you crop tops.
Wraps are always in style. Solid colors can take you through every season and prints are very fun to play with.

Eyelet

I wore this to check out a business networking group. Everyone was very friendly.I think I will join it. I picked up this skirt from Loft outlet a while ago. I didn't like it for the height  of summer but now that it's a little cooler I think it works great and it will go into fall and winter.
I know 3/4 sleeves seem long for bare legs but it is a very light knit and I love the touch of glitter in the knit.

Red and Gingham

I wore this to a networking luncheon. I'm really trying to network to bring people into the store because the store is not doing well. I hope it picks up soon.

I was wearing a necklace but it didn't show up in any of the photos.

Clip on Earrings

I love clip-on earrings even though I have pierced ears. I'm pretty fidgety so if I wear heavy earrings I play with them too much. Clip-ons let me wear bold styles with out pain. I love vintage clip-ons, if you look in antique shops or thrift stores you can get pretty good deals.
I like the pearl surrounded by branches. It's very elegant.
If you don't have pierced ears, these are a great stud option.
I like how these Kendra Scott earrings aren't super shiny.
I like the mod look of these Liz Claiborne earrings.
I like the black and silver combo on these Napier earrings.

Doll

I wore this last week. I like having a striped pencil skirt but I'm not thrilled about it being a knit.

Printed Gowns

It's been a long week I just want to look at some pretty dresses. Today I'm highlighting printed gowns. I think they really stand out in a crowd of the solid color dresses.
This Carmen Marc Valvo dress is so breezy. I love the little keyhole neckline.
I love the color on this Carolina Herrera dress. The pleats at the waist are a really nice touch.
This Oscar de la Renta dress is so fun! The different sized polka dots keep it interesting.
This Sachin and Babi dress is very classic. I think it would look good on someone like Carey Mulligan or a redhead.
This Theia dress has a wonderful skirt. I like the panels of solid that help highlight a waist.

Trixie

I wore this to a business group meeting. My friend joined the same group so it's pretty fun. I've been working on photographing everything we have to put together a catalog. It's a lot of work.

Show

I wore this to a trade show in Atlantic City. I went down the night before and walked the boardwalk. The pedometer on my phone says I did over 14,000 steps just doing that. I liked that a lot of the vendors at the show were pretty small.
