Floral

I wore this running around to get some permits. We are getting very close to opening and I'm excited and really nervous. I think this outfit would have looked better with some khaki pants but I realized I didn't have any. I guess wearing them 5 days a week for 3 years in middle school kind of made me skip over them for a long long time.
My mom got me this shirt at Old Navy. She had some of the super cash when she was getting clothes for her so she got me this top in pink and green and a little summer dress. I've worn the dress a ton. I like the top it just wrinkles very  quickly.

Changes

I wore this to get some Indian food last week. My boyfriend never had it before and he really likes it now. My shoes were kind of impractical but they are so cool and they are perfect for sitting. I did a little redesign on the blog. I swithced to a 2 column it lets me use some larger pictures. I also added buttons for my Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest, Bloglovin and email. I thought about changing to white but I still like the flowers. I got the buttons from here.
Normally I don't like dresses this long but I love this Trashy Diva dress. The length really works for me.

Blue Dress

I made this dress awhile ago but I haven't had a chance to wear it. I wrote about construction here.I got really impatient and just wore it to get chicken wings.I didn't wear any accessories in an attempt to keep it casual. It's a simple knit dress it feels like a tee but it reads as fancy because of the metallic fabric.
I feel like the jean jacket makes it casual. My friend's little sister asked why I was so dressed up. She's not used to seeing me in makeup.

The only thing that bothers me about the dress is the top. The fabric I used for the facing is the same I used for lining. And it is just too heavy for a facing so it kind of flares out. It makes my chest look wider than it is. I don't think it will stop me from wearing the dress.

Old

I wore this for a quick run out to return some stuff with my mom. Sometimes I feel like this skirt is a little old lady but I still think it's adorable.
When my mom and I went to the mall I picked up a cute pair of wedges.

Movie Characters Today

When I was doing my Cinderella post I noticed a lot of dresses reminded me of movie characters. I thought it would be fun to dress some of them for today.
First is the iconic green dress from Atonement. I chose this Black Halo gown. It is the same emerald green and there is a dropped waist that echos the thirties One of my favorite details on the original dress is the neckline cutouts. They look like small flowers so I paired it with a diamond flower necklace. I finished it with a simple silver sandal.
Next is Liesl's dress from when she does 16 going on 17.  Instead of a big puffy sleeve I chose this Asos dress with a modern flutter sleeve. The skirt is still flowy enough for dancing. I thought leopard flats would be fun and still be young.
The dress from Gentleman Prefer Blondes is amazing. This Carolina Herrera coral number is a little more modern. It still has the draping and a bow. It pairs wonderfully with a big choker. They aren't diamond but it still make an impact.
Finnaly its the dress from Sabrina, In the original it looks like a sheath dress with an attached train. This Oscar de la Renta has a similar look from the front. The original is paired with black heels but I think a hem like that is just dying to show off fancy shoes. I picked these Miu Miu shoes because they look fancy but they are still demure because of the short heel. They are very Audrey.

Cinderella Dresses

I saw Cinderella last weekend and I was enchanted by the costumes. The update on Cinderella's dress was so pretty. Let's look at some pretty blue dresses.
This dress is from Aidan Mattox. It reminds me of Lupita Nyong'o's Oscar dress.
I love the draping and gathering on this Badgley Mischka dress.
The lace trim on this La Femme dress is so delicate.
This Oscar de la Renta reminds me of the dress from Sabrina. It's perfect to show off a pretty pair of shoes.

Lace and Eyelet

I wore this on Easter. My mom and I saw Cinderella and the costumes were so nice! Then I went to my boyfriend's for dinner. Then I made bourbon milkshakes for Mad Men.
I like the mix of eyelet and lace.

Gingham under $100

Gingham is a huge trend for spring. It is classic and feminine. When I was a kid I preferred blue gingham just like Dorothy. Now I like black so I look less like a production of the Wizard of Oz. I found some great gingham looks for under $100.
This skirt from Bloomingdale's looks classic but it has a bit of an edge because it is made from scuba material. The skirt also has a matching crop top. The Asos pants have a large gingham that is a bit subtle. These would look fantastic with a leather jacket and studded heels. The shirt from Forever 21 is a classic button-up and it also comes in black. I love this dress from Modcloth. It isn't out yet but it looks so perfect for spring and even into fall. I love the circle skirt and the bias waistband. There is another dress that is a little cheaper but it has a straight gathered skirt. Modcloth also has an Esther Williams gingham swimsuit. It looks so cheerful and flattering. The Betsey Johnson earrings from Amazon are the epitome of girlieness. They've got flowers, bows, rhinestones and cheery green gingham.

Simple

I wore this to dinner. Normally we do trivia but it was too crowded and there was no room for my team so we just did dinner at another restaurant.
I like the hint of sparkles in the jacket. My mom and I got it on Black Friday. We share it.
I've been catching up on Game of Thrones.  I'm hooked and I'm almost caught up. The braids on the show are wonderful so I tried to do my hair like Daenery Targaryen.
